OPEL CEO Michael Lohscheller has laid out the German carmaker's new strategy to over 300 international journalists. By 2024, all OPEL Model Ranges will be available in an electric version. First up are the OPEL Corsa-e and the all-wheel drive OPEL Grandland X.
The roof line is coupé-like, 48mm lower than its predecessor’s, without detriment to headroom. The driver sits 28mm lower. Handling and driving dynamics benefit from the lower centre of gravity. The handling is responsive and dynamic, for more fun behind the steering wheel. The modern interior with fully digitalised cockpit can even be upgraded with leather seats.
OPEL Goes Electric: New Corsa-e and Grandland X PHEV
It is no coincidence that our first pure electric model of the new generation is an OPEL Corsa, our most popular nameplate and one of the bestselling cars in Europe. The OPEL Corsa-e not only makes electric mobility more practical and convenient but also more accessible.
The All-New OPEL Corsa-e: Simply Electric!
OPEL has been producing cars for 120 years and now has chosen the brand's most popular model to finally bring electric mobility out of its niche-existence. OPEL Corsa is an absolute bestseller. More than 13.6 million units have been produced since the world premiere in 1982. The Opel Corsa has made millions of people mobile; now it is offering them access to emission-free driving with a maximum "fun-to-drive" factor.
With a range up to 330 km according to WLTP, the five-seat OPEL Corsa-e is suitable for unconstrained every-day use. And thanks to the 100kW (136hp) power output and a maximum 260 Nm of instantaneous torque, the highlights include responsiveness, agility and dynamic performance.
*Energy consumption: 17kWh/100km, CO2-emission: 0g/km. Preliminary data determined according to WLTP test procedure methodology (R (EC) No.715/2007 and R (EU) No.2017/1151). EG type approval and Certificate of Conformity are not yet available. Preliminary values may differ from official final type approval data. Further information: www.dat.de
